How do I become staff?

You can't apply. With the server's transition to anarchy, the traditional application process has been removed entirely. Staff members are hand-picked.

The process is as follows:

1. A current staff member nominates a player they believe is qualified.
2. The rest of the staff team discusses the nomination.
3. Server leadership holds a vote, and the appointment is made only if the vote is unanimous.

That is the entire process. Asking, begging, or repeatedly bringing it up will not get you a staff position, and there is no form to fill out.

Staff positions are earned by consistently demonstrating:

• Maturity
• A deep knowledge of the game
• The ability to stay composed in high-pressure situations

Team Size

Anarchy requires a significantly smaller moderation team than our previous gamemode. The staff team is capped at 10 members total.

Staff Hold No Special Privileges

Unlike previous versions of TotalFreedom and its current offshoots, being staff confers no special privileges. There is no private admin world, no admin-exclusive "joke" or "fun" commands, and nothing that sets staff apart as a separate class above the players. Being an admin is not a gentleman's club.

Staff are held to a high standard. Admins can and will be removed for inciting drama or "feeding the trolls," and they are expected to remain professional in demanding situations. This doesn't mean staff can't have fun, but professionalism is a required skill when the job calls for it.

"I want to be staff so I can have more fun"

If this is your reason for wanting to join staff, you have the wrong idea about the role. Being a regular OP is meant to be more fun than being staff, not less.

If there's a feature or permission you feel is missing, it's unlikely admins have it either. Instead of seeking a staff position to get it, raise a suggestion so it can be considered for everyone.

Admins typically only have access to administrative punishment commands. What comes with the role isn't extra freedom; it's a stricter expectation of maturity, responsibility, and the ability to handle difficult situations. Staff is a job, not a perk.

Former Staff (Emeritus)

Anyone who served as staff during the server's traditional free-op era will receive a cosmetic Emeritus role, along with access to a private Emeritus world as a thank-you for their past service to TotalFreedom.

Unless an Emeritus member is selected for staff through the process above, the role is cosmetic only and carries no moderation powers.
