This policy is to provide templates and information about the types of Long-Term Bans that can be issued.

About Long-Term Bans

Long-term ban requests are a way to request a player to be banned from the server for an extended period of time. In principle, a long-term ban lasts until the player submits a long-term ban appeal and that appeal is approved or the ban expires, whichever comes first. Players can only be long-term banned after committing one or more offenses from Category 1 of the guidance for sanctions available to admins here, get issued a pre-approved ban for any infraction deemed appropriate by the Executive Board, or by submitting a self-request. In the event that both a Long-Term Ban Request and a self-request exist for the same player, the Long-Term Ban request takes priority. Requests for bans are posted in the Long-Term Ban Request board located here.

About Self-Requested Bans

Unlike a regular Long-Term Ban, a Self-Requested ban is a way for a player to 'take time off' from the server if, for example, they feel their behaviour is declining and that they should avoid TF for the time being to prevent potential problems. Self-Requested bans, unlike Long-Term bans, will not be held against the player who requested it in applications for official server positions. Self-requested bans are submitted to the ban manager privately via any official platform and a notice is posted in the Long-Term Bans board to inform the admins that a player has self-requested a ban.

Appealing Long-Term Bans

To appeal a long-term ban, an appeal must be submitted to the Ban or Admin Suspension Appeals board. The template to appeal a long-term ban is provided here. If a player is banned from the forums, the ban appeal can be submitted by email to [email protected] using the template linked above. Players should be advised to wait 30 to 60 days before appealing their ban as they risk having it denied, depending on the duration of the ban set before appealing. If a player has concrete evidence their ban was issued wrongly, they are recommended to appeal at any time. Self-Requested bans can be appealed by contacting the Ban Manager at any time via any official platform and no template is required to appeal a self-request.

Long-Term Ban Request Template

Note for Admins: Make sure to use the [CLUB][/CLUB] BBCode when filling out Question 1 to protect sensitive IP information. This also applies to evidence in Question 4 that may contain IPs or other sensitive data. Also, as a courtesy to players who aren't admins, if there are multiple players in the ban request, make sure to include their names in a list in Question 1 or include them in the title if desired.
1. Username, UUID, IP(s), and short ban reason for each offender. Format as follows:

YAML:
0:
  ips:
    - 1.2.3.4
    - 5.6.7.8
  reason: Crashing clients
  users:
    - Alco_Rs11
  uuids:
    - d4de91f4-f039-4124-a531-39fcb9698d35
2. What did they do?

3. What indefinitely bannable offense does this fall under according to the community guidelines?

4. Add logs and/or screenshots of the occurrence here, and tag any witnessing staff. Evidence of previous offenses that are not the direct cause of this request can also be added here.

5. Are they known under any other names or IPs, and if so, are they currently (indefinitely) banned under those names and IPs? This information is used to keep track of ban bypassers.

6. Duration of the ban (Set a duration that reflects the severity of the offense.)

Self-Requested Ban Template

1. Your username, UUID, and IP(s). Format as follows:
YAML:
0:
  ips:
    - 1.2.3.4
    - 5.6.7.8
  reason: Self-Request
  users:
    - Alco_Rs11
  uuids:
    - d4de91f4-f039-4124-a531-39fcb9698d35

2. Why do you want to be indefinitely banned? We will not interrogate you about this, but a justification is required to prevent requests for fun.

3. Do you confirm that submitting this request means that you will not be able to join the server in any way until you appeal your ban and the appeal is approved?
