Finally, we have the Nether and the End. These two worlds had pretty much the same timeline with some exceptions, but the main thing they have in common is the fact that for a large chunk of TF's lifetime, the Nether and End were disabled completely. According to historic records from the time, the End was initially disabled due to "crash exploitation", but later both it and the Nether were later left disabled to avoid exacerbating an existing server bottleneck. When the server moved to a VPS under Windows' ownership, these previously disabled worlds were re-enabled. They remained enabled since then, and were backed up a couple times. Today's release includes all backups of the Nether and End dimensions from 2019-2020 known to exist.

Nether

This world was probably backed up the least out of all of the entries, possibly because I assumed it wasn't used often for building purposes during the server's later years. If you're looking for the original Nether server map from 2010-2011, click here to read the page about it on the TotalFreedom Wiki and get the download link. If instead you're looking for the version at the time of the server's closure in August of 2023, click here instead.

End

Evidently, the End was slightly more backed up than the Nether and was used a lot more for building projects, especially the bases for the Imperium and Enders. Click here if you're looking for the version at the time of the server's closure in August 2023.

Questions

You know the deal.
  • Q: Do you have a copy of these dimensions from September 2020?
A: Unfortunately, no. The backup from September 2020 only contained files that Seth wanted to preserve when he went to wipe the server. Everything else, including the Flatlands, Overworld, Nether, and End were nuked without a backup. I lost my file access in March 2020, so I couldn't make any backups. Plus, I was in absolutely no position to be trusted to have file access again as I was just barely coming back from an indefinite ban and suspension, which were for doxing Nathaniel.

  • Q: Would it be possible to recover either of these dimensions from before the September 2020 wipe?
A: I'm afraid it's a very slim chance. There are three possibilities, all of which aren't very useful.
    • If the worlds back then were the same iterations as the March 2020 backup (something which I genuinely don't know), then in theory recovery would be possible, but then you have to factor the loss of 6 months' worth of work.

    • If anyone in a management position like Seth was capable of having file access and happened to download these worlds before September 6, 2020, it is possible they could have kept these downloads and recovery efforts could be a breeze. However, Seth has since distanced himself from TF so considerably I doubt he would even have anything leftover from the time. I lost my file access in March 2020, so I obviously don't have anything. Smartn't might have something, as Ivan (a former member of the group) once told me that he and Robin retained file access even after being suspended and banned, but I doubt they cared enough to download them at the time or even retain these files 5 years later. The odds are overwhelmingly not in our favor for this. If any of them do and would like to contribute them, please let me know.

    • If anyone with the Replay Mod installed flew around in the worlds, they could send them to me or follow the guide outlined here and recover at least something from them. A combination of real life obligations, lack of motivation, poor organization, and just bad luck means I just don't have many recordings of the main freedom server from that time period. Not even a midpoint like July would work, as I was straight up banned from the server for like half the month for doxing Nathaniel. If anyone joined the server with the Replay Mod during the timeframe between late March and early September 2020, let me know immediately.
  • Q: What else do you intend to upload?
A: I intend to search for iterations of worlds I didn't cover in my previous posts, look for missing template maps, and (eventually) research recovering iterations from my existing stockpile of replay recordings. I'm hoping to also communicate with players of the past to see if they have anything surviving that would be worth uploading. I still have plenty of work to do.
