Hi everyone,

I am giving notice that in two weeks from today (October 18, 2026), I will be wiping all of the worlds. This is due to the completely different ways Oasis v2 and v3 write data. Trying to convert the data from v2 to v3 has proven to be near impossible due to the significant number of internal changes. While Oasis v3 does work, it has led to a significant number of edge cases to accumulate.

All worlds will be reset, minus guild worlds. We highly recommend saving schematics of any builds you would like to keep. Alternatively, you can copy the builds to your private guild world. Last time we did a reset, we had a new_flatlands as a cutover. However, we will not be doing a cutover and doing the reset much sooner due to guild worlds existing now. This should make it much easier to save and preserve builds, alongside schematics.

All of the server worlds will be put up for download on the world download page.

Thank you,
Telesphoreo

Small update on this: while guild worlds will not be deleted, all Oasis history will. Please ensure your guild world is in a state you are happy in as we will not be able to roll it back at any point of time before the restore.

Hello everyone,

I have a new update on this. The world wipe that was slated for the 18th has been cancelled. Instead, we will only be wiping all Oasis data rather than all of the worlds. We have been very hard at work reengineering the entire storage engine to handle forwards and backwards compatibility significantly better. We have come up with a solution without compromising Oasis's speed. We are very excited to share more updates about Oasis very soon. Dogfooding Oasis on TotalFreedom has definitely taught us many valuable lessons and areas for improvements to the plugin. We now do nearly two million edits a second without lagging the server. We have been doing extraordinarily rigorous testing, to a point where now we are detecting slowdowns depending on how the JVM compiles our code. To give context on how fast Oasis is, we are now working on the microsecond level for some measurements. 1 millisecond is 1,000 microseconds, for reference. Our new storage solution will allow any future Oasis build to read data from older versions. It's also smart and knows if the data is too new for an older Oasis build to read. We managed to do this with zero impact to speed. We now do around 2 million block edits a second in real world testing.

Thanks,
Telesphoreo

The Oasis data purge has happened and the server is operating normally again. We expect this to be a one time thing due to the complicated Oasis v2 to v3 migration.
