What's up, TotalFreedom.
It's honestly kind of crazy being back here. This was the Free OP Minecraft server I grew up on, and looking through everything again is bringing back way more memories than I expected. I went from being a little kid asking Mark and CJ questions about basically everything and spamming SuperAdmin applications, to being a slightly bigger kid watching VJ completely lose his mind over Minecraft, to eventually being a slightly smarter kid watching Marco somehow stumble his way into a development role.
Then there's all the random shit I haven't thought about in years: SuperAdmin applications, Telnet applications, vouches, objections, forum drama, /smite, /doom, /stfu, /saconfig, /cage, /permban, /deafen, the old join messages showing everybody's admin level, Windows taking over for Mark, Wild coming back, and a million other little points in time that probably wouldn't mean much to anyone who wasn't there.
It's such a weird feeling remembering all of this because none of it felt particularly important at the time. It was just what we did. You'd get on the server, mess around, do your admin duties, argue with somebody in chat, probably get yourself into some kind of trouble, read through the forums for drama, and do it all over again the next day. Looking back now, TotalFreedom was a pretty huge part of my childhood. There are people and names from this server that I haven't seen or thought about in years, yet somehow I still remember exactly who they were and what they were known for, and some of them are responsible for the relationship I have with technology and Minecraft to this day, and the way it's developed.
It's one of those things where you don't realize you're living through a part of your childhood until you're old enough to look back on it. So yeah, seeing TotalFreedom again after all this time is a hell of a blast from the past. What's up to everybody who's still around, and especially anybody who remembers the old days. It's good to pop in and say hello.
